It’s hard to believe it’s almost been a year since our strike to end the staffing crisis at Kaiser. That was powerful—we made history.
We sacrificed a lot to secure our contract, with the potential to get staffing relief and better care for our patients, putting our partnership back on track. We fought hard for these wins—and we deserve them to be fully realized.
Show solidarity in remembering the Anniversary Of the largest healthcare strike in US history by purpling up on Wednesday, October 2 through Saturday, October 5. What’s purpling up! Wear as much purple & SEIU gear, buttons, shirts, ribbons and you can! Also re-share those memories on Facebook and social media to remind your friends, co-workers and community of how we stood together.
A year after our strike SEIU and CKPU members are demanding real partnership including:
- Healthy staffing for union workers and Kaiser patients
- Reduce registry usage, stop outsourcing, and engage labor early in restructuring
- Upskill employees for hard-to-fill roles
- Assure unit-based teams meet monthly
- Show full support for the Joint Staffing process
- Recognize SEIU Committee on the Interns and Residents in the National Agreement
- Regularly share PSP data and engage leadership on goal achievement
- We are still pushing HR to ensure you all get your retro pay for longevity and Differentials; let your manager know if you have not received all your retro pay and keep a copy of that correspondence.
Let’s keep showing KP management we are united!
